City of Wyoming Boards, Commissions, and Committees
The City of Wyoming boards and commissions are comprised of residents of Wyoming who volunteer their time to assist the City in a variety of different ways. See below for a description of each board and commission.
City Council refers to five standing Council Committees to consult with Council on City business. Standing Council Committees include three members of the City Council, one of which acts in a Chairman position. The Council Committees are described below as well.

Architectural Review Board
The Architectural Review Board is an advisory board to the Planning Commission on matters related to the development of the City and, more specifically, the architectural characteristics of the buildings within the developments and site, circulation, and landscaping issues. This Board consists of three professional architects who are citizens and meets as needed.

Buildings & Equipment Committee
The Buildings and Equipment Committee reviews and provides recommendations to City Council regarding matters relating to the buildings and equipment of the City.

Committee of the Whole
Council Committee of the Whole serves as the work session for City Council members. This provides Council members the opportunity to discuss issues, engage in long range planning, etc. Committee of the Whole meetings are generally scheduled for the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m., if there are agenda items to be discussed.

Community Improvement Corporation
The Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) was created in 1991 for the purposes of advancing, encouraging, and promoting industrial, economic, commercial, distribution, research development, residential, and civic development and specifically to implement the City Urban Design Plan (Master Plan). The Community Improvement Corporation membership consists of seven trustees representing City Council, Planning Commission, Economic Development Commission, and the community-at-large. Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the City Building.

Economic Development Commission
The Economic Development Commission works with City Council, developers, residents, and the business community in an attempt to improve the economic climate of the City. The Economic Development Commission consists of seven citizens, including a representative from the Planning Commission, the business community, the Wyoming School Board, and City Council. Meetings are held as needed.

Environmental Stewardship Commission
The Environmental Stewardship Commission recommends proposals for the management of solid waste for adoption by the City Council. It advises the Administration and City Council on issues and programs related to solid waste collection, administration of recycling programs, composting, environmental education, sustainability, and stewardship. The Environmental Stewardship Commission consists of eight citizens and a City Council representative. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee reviews and provides recommendations regarding matters involving the finances of the City.

Greenways Committee
The Greenways Committee’s continuous efforts made the Wyoming Hike/Bike Trail possible. Due to their dedication and patience, the Hike/Bike Trail is now complete. This committee also plans events such as the Clean Up of the West Fork of the Mill Creek and the Creek Walk. They work with the West Fork of the Mill Creek Task Force including the Village of Woodlawn, Hamilton County Park District, and Mill Creek Watershed Council. The Greenways Committee is a subcommittee of the Recreation Commission.

Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission makes evaluations of the historic resources of the City and makes recommendations to City Council for legislative action. The Commission consists of two citizens, plus representatives from the Wyoming Historical Society, Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board, City Council, and City staff. They meet the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the City Building.

Income Tax Review Board
The Income Tax Review Board approves all rules and regulations/amendments to the Codified Ordinance governing the City of Wyoming income tax. The Board consists of three citizens. Meetings are held as needed.

Promote Wyoming Commission
The Promote Wyoming Commission (PWC) is an action-oriented body whose main purpose is to promote the City of Wyoming to potential residents and business patrons and act to promote and assist with community events. The Commission also assists with community branding, volunteer recruitment, public commission, marketing efforts, new resident reception, promotional projects, and other similar efforts and activities. The Commission consists of eight citizens and a representative from City Council. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.

Public Safety Committee
The Public Safety Committee reviews and provides recommendations regarding matters relating to the public safety programs and activities of the City.

Recreation Commission
The Recreation Commission is an advisory board to the City Council regarding the recreational needs of the City. Recreation Commission consists of eight citizens and a City Council representative. The Commission consists of seven citizens, a representative from the Wyoming School Board, and a representative from City Council. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.

Streets & Roads Committee
The Streets and Roads Committee reviews and provides recommendations regarding matters relating to private streets and public rights of way in the City.

Urban Forestry & Beautification Commission
The Urban Forestry and Beautification Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council regarding urban forestry programs and issues, enhancement of public properties and rights of way and other enhancements, beautification efforts, and revitalization efforts within the City of Wyoming. The Commission consists of eleven Members, one of which must be a registered architect or landscape architect and one being a member of the City Council. Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.
