Applications are being accepted for the position of full-time Police Officer with the Wyoming Police Department. We are a service-oriented, progressive law enforcement agency that embraces the community oriented policing philosophy and respects and value our officers and all community members.  Our Police Officer’s duties include protecting life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, routine patrol, investigation, traffic enforcement, community outreach, and general calls for service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and in a professional atmosphere.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Background must be free of prior felony convictions and certain misdemeanor convictions.
  • Must not have tattoos, body art or branding that is visible while in the uniform of the day.
  • Must be physically capable of successfully performing the essential job functions of the Police Officer classification and be free of medical conditions that would preclude one from successfully performing essential job functions or would pose a direct threat to the health or safety of oneself or others.

  • Salary range for certified officers $56,150 – $86,921. (Reflects 100% Pension Pickup.) Starting salary commensurate with experience

Individuals wishing consideration or additional information can find an application here.  OPOTA certified officers with one year of full time law enforcement experience are exempt from the written test and can submit their application and cover letter expressing interest directly to the Wyoming Police Department.  Applicants that have had disciplinary action within the past five years that resulted in suspension or loss of pay will not be considered. Non-certified individuals wishing consideration can go to the National Testing Network for information on the testing and application process. Alternate School Crossing Guards
